Notes for Webmasters

Please note that all the information contained on this website is copyrighted. The copyright is owned by me, except where otherwise indicated. This means that you cannot copy any of the text or images on this site and put them on your own site without first seeking and obtaining my permission. I have granted this permission in the past and some of my ramblings have been reproduced in various forms, usually for free.

That said, I welcome people linking to my site. That is, after all, what the World Wide Web is all about. I do object, however, to people simply copying material that is the end result of a considerable amount of my time and effort. This has happened a few times already and I object to it for several reasons, as follows.

Firstly, I do update the material on this site from time to time, either to correct factual inaccuracies or to improve on the existing information. If these pages are copied to various different sites it makes updates very awkward, especially if there are copies around that I don't know about. It also means that people could be reading an old version of a page that contains incorrect information, which helps nobody.

Secondly, this material is the result of my hard work! Whilst I have no intention of making any money from the information at this site, I would of course be annoyed if I found that my work was being sold by somebody else without my knowledge and permission. If the position were reversed, I suspect you would be too.

If you would like to obtain my permission to reproduce any of the information on my site, please email me at webmaster [at] noegruts [dot] com. Please include details about exactly what you want to reproduce, in what publication and for what purpose.

If you'd like to link to my site, please go ahead. But I'd appreciate an email telling me that you've done so. I try not to break any links by unnecessary updates to the site, but you will of course have better luck if you let me know exactly what page it is that you've linked to so that I can drop you a line if something changes.
